can i stick a thermometer into my xp-90?

the thermometers are just wires with little flat things on the end. can i just stick it between the fins in the xp-90? or would that be bad. do they get really hot? i dont want to fry anything.

It's only bad to do it it's between the hsf and proccesor or under the proccessor. Other wise it's fine. The base would probably be better, although it will still not give you an acurate reading of the proccesor's temp.

I have one in between the fins near the center and touching the base of the hs. it reads about 25 degree cooler then the mobo cpu temp sensor.

right now, i one sensor right in the middle of my box, and one between the video card and the xp-90. i was gonna put one right below the video card, and one in the hsf. i dont want an accurate measure of my cpu temp. i just wanna see.

yeah, it'll be fine. just as long as you don't expect to get the CPU temps.
