Is there a way I can type up something in Microsoft Word or Outlook, and fax it to someone's fax machine, with my cable connection for FREE?
Yes, there are some services out there but they charge per fax and my stupid client does not use email :|

I have Windows 2000 Pro and Office 2000.

TIA :D

Standalone fax machines are attached to analog phone lines, not to the internet.

There were some isolated commie ;) servers out there allowing free faxing to a few local areas, but in general: no. TANSTAAFL

It uses an analog modem to dial out over an analog phone line and connect to the fax machine.
I see... well it's time to delete it from my machine then. ;)

Yeah, back in my dial up days, I used to send faxes (in MS Word), and use 'print to fax' and send it over phone line modem.

Werk
Thanks, just tried it.
Came up with an error, and a buncha pop ups afterwards :p

I don't even have a modem anymore, let alone a dial-up ISP :(
