I have a small tree (~8' tall) that's been there since i bought the house 10yrs ago.

-2 years ago was a severe drought. I watered my tree till water restrictions kicked in :(

-last year only 1/2 the branches had leaves. My neighbors have the same tree. They didnt water their tree the year before. they just relied on the rain. Their tree had no leaves.

This year only 1 branch has leaves. My neighbors cut down their tree.

Anyway to save my tree?

THX

I just received my CCW. (YEAH!)

it's the size of a buisness card, and feels like buisness card stock.
I want to protect it .

Where can i go to laminate this?

(and will be going to the gun range to rent guns to see which i like for my concealed weapon.)

Shoot the OP's branch.

I think your tree's probably done. Keep watering it, and see if it comes back. I've seen miracle revivals before. If you have water restrictions, trap grey water for your tree. That's a good idea anyway. It's stupid to waste good water on plants.

If it looks like you're going to lose it, you can try taking a clipping from the live branch and re-growing it.

First thing is to cut down all branches that aren't producing leaves. Then, pray.

Cut the deadened branches that are only sapping nutrients & water. Now pray.

-OR-

Cut the live branch, plant it on the ground.

It's probably a fungal disease, unrelated to the drought except that a stressed plant is more susceptible to disease . What kind of tree?

If its fungal, go the the local store and get some athlete's foot medication. Then apply it to the tree daily.

This is your family tree which only has one branch I presume? :p

Odds are not good for your tree. You can usually test to see how much of the tree is still live by gently scraping some of the bark to see whether there's green underneath...or if it's died. (check a few small areas)

What kind of tree? Are the "dead" branches easily bendable? Or are they completely dead? If they're not completely dead, you may be able to encourage growth by trimming the branches back about half way. Of course, that still depends on the type of tree. 8 foot? 10 years old? Slow growing tree? Or just a short variety of tree?

i assume short tree. no idea what variety. it has small white flowers then the leaves come.

so just trim back the branches w/o leaves 1/2 way?

Bradford pair? If so, just cut it down now. Those trees have a short lifespan anyway, and start splitting after 20 or 30 years.
