Can I run PC-100 on a Duron 1.6?

Looking to upgrade from a PIII 1Ghz with 512mb pc-100. There is a 1.6Ghz Duron w/ mobo at fry's for 39.99. Would there be a noticeable performance difference? Looks tempting!
 
I say go for it. You could probably OC to 2GHz too. But you'll probably have to get new memory. It's time to move on from PC100 anyway.

Shoot me a PM if you decide to upgrade. I may be in need of a PIII CPU.
 
eh, I think I'll wait then. RAM would run me another ~$75. But yeah, the Dec 10 Fry's ad lists the combo at $39.99, good until Dec 14. The ad is in southern california.
