Just call or write email to the manufacturer and ask them to send you a new fan... I have done this before with an Abit motherboard..
The fan started to make a grinding noise... sent them an email with my address and they mailed me the fan in 3 days time at no charge.
They never asked for proof of purchase or anything 🙂
As for your video card RMA return to manufacturer??? I would think that you need to provide proof of purchase to get approval for repair or replacement... do you have the orig receipt?
The fan quit working on my Gainward Geforce3 Ti200 card also. They must use cheap fan parts. So far no reply from the company or Newegg where I purchased it.
I can't send my card back because I have no replacement video card to use. So I ordered one of the Titan copper vga coolers. There are some other vga coolers, but they take up a PCI slot next to the video card because they are too big. The Titan doesn't supposedly.
Stupid question, but how do you know when the fan on a video card stops? Is there some utility you can use like Motherboard Monitor? I suppose you can just wait until your computer locks up but is there any way to monitor the temps?
