Does anyone else buy computers at Costco, take out all the parts, maybe swap a Pentium chip for an old Celeron that you hammered into place and then return it saying it doesn't work? They are so gullible.

Last week I filled up my gas tank and then returned a bucket of water asking for a refund since after I applied a spark to it it no longer functioned like I wanted it to.

Abusing? Sorry bud, but you may have to check up on Costco's return policy. Just found this on their website:

http://www.costco.com/Service/FeaturePageLeftNav.aspx?ProductNo=10166081#Returns

Costco.com has a 100% guarantee on all of our merchandise. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we offer two convenient return methods. Costco.com refunds include shipping and handling fees.

Now, reading my original OP, I said I will return it if I don't like it. I think my reasoning fits the policy.

If their policy is similar to Sam's Club, they take electronics back within a specific time period as long as you have the original packaging and the receipt.

Costco's return policy will not be the same for computers, they explicity say this. I believe it's something like 30 days for computers.

So you could have just read the webpage and not even started this thread.

You really are a tool.

How do you like it so far?

Did you get the $699 bundle with the keyboard/mouse and 3 year AppleCare warranty?

Well, actually, I went there and they were out of the Mac Minis, so I grabbed myself an iMac G5 for $1449 with 3 year Apple Care.

This thing is so sweet as far as the design goes but still trying to get ahold of OS X. The setup was cake, my only problem so far is playing WMV files on this and supposably http://www.flip4mac.com is supposed to let you do that but I have had no luck so far.

Specs:

2.1 GHz PowerPC G5
512 MB DDR2 SDRAM
250 GB SATA Drive
Superdrive (dual layer)
20-inch widescreen LCD (well, its one piece computer+LCD)
ATI Radeon X600 XT with 128 MB Memory
Built-in iSight camera
Built-in ethernet
Two Firewire, 3 USB ports on monitor, 2 on keyboard
Built-in wireless (G)
Bluetooth 2.0
Integrated speakers/microphone
VGA Video Output, S-video and composite video output
Apple Remote, Keyboard, Mighty Mouse
Software: Mac OS X, Front Row, Spotlight, Dashboard, iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie HD, iDVD, GarageBand, Photobooth, iCal, Appleworks, Classic Environment, Quicken, World Book, Marble Blast Gold, Nanosaur 2.

$1449 + tax.

The most important thing for me is to see if I like OS X or not. I have used Windows since 1994 so I am too much of a Microsoft fanboy but I am giving Mac a shot... I'll report back with more feedback when I get in trouble with OS X :)

Nah, Intel is not available on Mac mini anyways, and I wanted to try OS X on the cheapest available option. So as Mac Mini wasn`t available at Costco, I just got a G5.

Cool... I didn't know that. I don't think the mini at Costco would have been Intel anyways.
