Can I power up my mobo without a processor?

OK I posted this in the motherboards forum and got no response. Hopefully there's a lot more warmer bodies in General Hardware.

Got the mobo, processor is coming 2 days later. I have all the components but just want to test and power up the mobo. Can I do this without a processor installed?

I don't think it'll damage anything, but there's not any point to it. If it were me I'd just wait.
