Can I plug a modem into a wireless phone jack?

I am building a computer for a friend, who cannot get broad band yet. She needs a modem, but the only phone jack in her room is a phone jack that plugs into the AC outlet of the wall. It connects wirelessly to the base station on the main floor.

Is it possible to plug a modem into that jack and have it work?

I checked out some product discriptions for these things and they say it will work, but one place did say this:

<< Fully compatible with 56K v.90, 33.6K & 28.8K v.34 modems (maximum connect speed is limited to 33.6K in most cases) >>

Cool. 🙂

As long as it works. 🙂

They will be getting a cable modem in a couple months, so it won't be a problem for a very long 🙂

Edit - I assume a V.92 modem will work as well?
