Outsourcing SUCKS DONKEY NARDS!
The American you should be talking to is the one who decided to outsource. A lot of people seem to take the stance that American CEOs and American Board of Directors and American Shareholders have been innocents who were sucked into playing the outsourcing game. The poor service is not provided by an Indian here. The poor service is provided by the American who, for whatever reasons, decided that costs had to be cut and profits increased (what a shocking philosophy). Pay through your noses to these corporations first and then demand the fine, fine service you expect. A few years back it was different - the customer was king. Now, the shareholder is king. For the peanuts that these corporations are paying Indian call center workers, the CSRs are providing you excellent value.

Couple years ago? I did the same thing couple of weeks ago. GOT me NO where. Got transfer 3 times and waited an hour on hold and just gave up.

I spoke to a couple customer service representatives from Dell a couple years ago for a defective flat panel display I bought. I was on the phone with them for about an hour total and accomplished absolutely nothing. It was incredibly frustrating and it was difficult to understand either of the dopes on the other end of the phone.
BTW-I can usually figure out accents but these guys were fvcking almost impossible to understand.

Interestingtly, the english of the two Indians I work with, who've lived in the US for a few years, though influenced by their accent, is far more formal and proper than the majority of native english speakers I know.
