can i place the folder "Program Files" in a partition other than that which contains windows?

The easiest way to do this is with an answer file **when you install Windows**. Time to do some research at the MS Knowledgebase.

yes.. you can. I do it..BUt if you are thinking about sharing that partition between win 98 and win 2k and use the same programs with both Os, It will work only for certain programs.

C: win98
D: win2k
E: program files for win98
F: program files for win2k

?

sure. Actually, you can put buth the Os program files folder on one partition if they are both using FAT32. You have to make folders like /win2k/program files and /win98/program files But the way you are setting up will work too..

That's the setup i have. Both my win2k and win98 progs share the same partition, just in different folders.
