Can I overclock a Slot A Athlon 800/K7v combo??

I have an Athlon 800 slot A on a ASUS K7V MB. I want to overclock it as hig as I safely can but I DO NOT want to have to do techno surgery. One of the reasons I bought the ASUS k7v is b/c the salesman told me it was all jumperless. Now, I want to O/C but Im not sure which settings in the bios to change and what to put them too. I did mess with the clock frequency but was only able to get it to 861 mgz.....Someone please take the time to help this o/c deficient guy.

Do you have a tbid or a classic. If you have a classic you can:

A. Notch your processor and add a GFD or
B. Overclock with your system bus or
C. Do both for a big speed increase

If you have a slot tbird your going to have to do a small mod to your motherboard to allow it to use the tbirds timings. Then you notch the proc and add a GFD and your good to go. Of course you could use the settings. The problem with this is the KX/T133 chipsets cant really go over 110-115. Using a GFD is the best option here.

Magnum...I would go and buy a GFD to overclock..they are very easy to install...the GFD(Golden Finger Device) allows you to overclock your classic athlon by upping the multiplier..yours rite now is set to 8 X 100..hence the clockspeed of 800...if you want to go higher you have to up the multiplier..the GFD has some dip switches on them that allow you to up the multiplier and also to increase the voltage..you will more than likely have to increase the voltage the higher you overclock....to install a GFD you will have to remove the plastic case surrounding the PCB..its no big deal to remove it and actually removing it will bring your core temps down a bit...
You can also overclock via the FSB(front side buss) which can be done via the mobo's bios...BUT... when you overclock this way your are basically overclocking your whole system..vid card, memory, sound...everything because your are increasing the FSB for the entire mobo...so it effects all components..and maybe some of your components won't like that..so you should increase the FSB very slowly....
If I were you I would go and get me a GFD and overclock that way and make sure you have good cooling for your CPU...
