Can I output PCM audio via HDMI and output video via DVI? Is this possible?

I have an AMD 6000 series graphics card which has a DVI output and HDMI output. I want to output video with a resolution greater than 1080p, so right now, the HDMI out won't work for me. I need to use the DVI port.

For audio, I want to use the HDMI port to get uncompressed PCM. Is there a way I can output video using DVI, and audio using HDMI?

There is an audio/video home theater forum???

I dont know if that will get out of synch or not.

Output to what? HDTV? Sound Receiver? Monitor? I am guessing a monitor.

Maybe you need displayport?

Theoretically, all you need is to connect the monitor to the DVI port, your receiver to the HDMI port, and select the HDMI output as the audio output (right click the sound/volume control options and then playback devices).

 Yep this should work. My HDMI port is listed as fully functioning audio device even though I've never plugged a monitor into it.
