Have xp2500 at 2.2 ghz in this computer which is pretty much maxed out for my cooling and system. I picked up a used xp2800 on rebuild I did, and have a choice of:
1. install the 2800 in this computer and will it clock higher than the 2500? Then move the 2500 to an XPC I am rebuilding.
2. or leave the 2500 alone and install the 2800 in the XPC? The XPC is only an internet/office computer

Question is: will I gain anything and by how much if I 'upgrade' the 2500 to the 2800?

I've got a 2800+. I had it at 2300 MHz for awhile, but I didn't like having to turn my HSF on high to cool it, so I turned it back down to 2.25 GHz. I'm sure it could go higher if I wanted it to, but, I don't! :) I say go for it, see if it overclocks better, if it doesn't, you can always just switch them back right?

I have an unlocked 2800 and a locked 2500 bartons, both in epox 8rda+ mbs and they both do 11 x 200 without any problems.

I haven't really pushed anything as stability is more important but the cores are both the same except maybe newer steppings so the chips should top out the same.
