Sorry if this question has been asked, but i cant find an answer to it.Ive been out of the loop for a while<<<----Also meant as Ive been onto AMD for a while and havent botheres with this thing called RDRAM:D

Also can you run PC600 RDRAM at PC800 speeds, much like some PC100 RAM being able to run in PC133 speeds?

Thanks!

You can mix PC600 and PC800 RDRAM, although the whole lot will only run at PC600 speeds.

PC600 is unlikely to run at PC800 speeds. There is still an intervening step, PC700 (not common). Most PC600 is really rated as such and usually cannot handle PC800 levels.

PC600 is the lowest speed grade of DRDRAM, and typically is a very poor overclocking. PC600 RIMM's are generally rated at the very best of their capabilities as it is, so your very unlikely to have much success overclocking it from 300MHz to 400MHz (The respective clockspeeds of PC600/800 DRDRAM).

You can mix PC800 and PC600, but your PC800 RIMM's will be forced to drop to PC600 speeds to accomodate the slower DRAM.
You will take a very definite performance hit by running PC600 DRDRAM though.
Assuming this is a P4 based system you'll really be depriving the P4 of some much needed memory bandwidth.

Thank you very much for your quick replies, dear sirs!
That does clarify a lot.
