Can I microwave a foil-wrapped chipotle burrito? **UPDATED & CONFIRMED**

I am at work, and I have a chipotle chicken fajito burrito wrap monster here that I left in the fridge overnight. It is unopened and still in it's originaly packing foil. I have microwaved metal things before with bad consequences (arcing, fires, etc), but that was on old microwaves? My roommate assures me that if it doesn't touch the sides of the microwave it will be OK.

Can I toss this baby into the microwave without ill effect?



UPDATE
I put the whole mess into the microwave and set it to one minute. After about 5 seconds it started shooting sparks everywhere. That was actually pretty interesting, so I let it go on for a few more seconds before I hit stop.

I unwrapped it per dderidex instructions and nuked it. That worked. And it is mmmmm good.

Recap: When reheating chipotle burritos, do not, I repeat, Do Not leave the foil on.
 
it will arc if it contains sharp edges or is thin, which are both characteristics of foil so i'm guessing it will indeed arc

To respond to the questions:
1. Eating it cold is like eating a block of cement. No way.
2. If I don't leave the foil on, how the hell am I supposed to eat it? From a plate with a fork? Holding it so it can explode all over my office? Both=gay.
 
It depends on two things:
1) The major aspect is the surface area of exposed food vs the surface area of exposed metal. If this ratio is ~10:1 or greater, you should have no problem at all.

2) If there are no sharp metal points, you should be fine. I have a home microwave with large metal racks inside. The metal is rounded and thus it poses no problems.

An unopened chipotle burrito will fail both tests. (The foil will likely have some sharp creases).

In one lapse of all IQ points, I did this with an Arby's sandwhich once. I was a sandwhich preparer there, and we had a mad rush. Someone asked for well done meat. I had to force everyone to wait ~ 3 minutes as I found the most cooked roast and sliced off the outer most edge. The meat was as overcooked as I've ever served. Well, he returned it, wanting it cooked even more. Usually I'll just take the meat, microwave it in a paper tray, and make a new sandwhich. This one time I wasn't thinking as we were so swamped (especially after the well-done delay). I threw the whole sandwich, foil and all, into the microwave. 5 seconds later the whole building stuck horribly. Microwave was fine, but the sandwhich was not.

Usually I'm pretty self-sufficient and don't need ATOT to hold my hand when I go peepee or when I see a girl with a real heartbeat and everything, but my roommate and I have gone round and round about this several times.
 
You can use foil in some circumstances. Not sure that this is one. You can and in fact should use it around the end of a chicken leg to prevent the bone from erupting.
 
Maybe I could go to kitchen on a different floor in my building and give it a go. That way, if I do blow it up, at least it's not our microwave. Thoughts?
