Can I load sata raid and ide driver with flash drive.

I am wondering if i cna use flash drive to install the driver needed for like ide card and sata driver during initial window installation with a flash drvie sicne i don't prepare a floppy for my build but i need to get those driver at start to install widnwo and ide card since the mobo is 965 express, which don;t get native ide criver and soiem Jmicron or soemthing like that. So i am wonder when window xp installtion promt me to push f6 for raid driver, can i use flash driver to load the driver?

Depends on your motherboard and it's BIOS. I got Asus P5B Deluxe and there is an option in BIOS under USB settings, it will only come if you already have inserted the USB in USB slot. It has a few options like force it to act as CD-ROM, Hardisk, even Floppy so yeah it's gonna work :). But depends on your MOBO. Most probably there will be such an option as theirs.

yehuda, sure. I always have my W800i with me :D. Here are the screenshots. In my P5B Deluxe BIOS, under Advanced, going to USB Configuration shows the following:

You go in "USB Mass Storage Device Configuration" and you see the following, the drop down list in front of Emulation type states it all :D,

Thanks. :)

I like the extent that Asus has gone into in making this USB emulation module.

Does anyone know of other motherboard makers that also provide emulation for USB storage devices?
