can i just send the bill?

A year ago, a city bus took off my side view mirror. My insurance will not pay for it b/c they keep saying my police report was not good enough. Well, the police report states that the bus did have the marking of my car and he concluded that the bus did take my side view mirror off. Instead of continuing to ask my insurance company for money and having them say no, do you think i can just go to the shop, get it fixed and send the city the bill?

you won't get any money from the city that way

you might be able to take them to small claims court, but sending them a bill won't work

can I threaten to take them to court? or do i actually have to physically go to court? I really have to get thsi fixed b/c my inspection sticker is expiring.

Why didn't you contact the cities insurance co?

Just call the city and tell them you want to file a claim with their insurance, they are probably self insured but that should get the ball rolling.

Of course the county trash truck backed OVER the hood of an old beater I had parked on the street and the sheriff investigated and found inconclusive proof so they would not pay me....good luck to you though.

PS a trash truck does alot of damage when it backs OVER the frickin hood of a car.
