Can I just delete some keys from the registry?

How do I go about deleting old program entries inside the registry, if I don't have the program installed anymore?

I installed the AMex Blue Smart Card Reader, but I get bunch of error messages in my event viewer when starting Win2K. I searched the registry and found it to be the smart card reader software that I used to have. But since it didn't work in win2K, I got rid of it.

ANy ideas?

yeah just nuke it.. there are a lot of keys u can delete.. but just dont poking around... also there are some registry scanner and tells u which key are old and stuff.. check cnet or search for them..

yea, check www.tweakfiles.com and see if they have something called RegCleaner... that one is supposed too work pretty well..

Downloaded Regclean and deleted some stuff belonging to the software, but I still get the error messages (there are still some reg keys in there)

What now?
