can I install the vista beta from within XP?

So basically, what i want to do is mount the dvd iso on a virtual drive, and then install vista on a second drive from within windows (i'll choose which drive to boot from at startup)

is this possible?

i guess i could just try it.

problem is, i imagine that it will restart a couple of times during installation....at which point i would have to boot from the drive i'm installing it to. but then it wouldn't have access to the mounted iso.. Or, does it copy all required installation files to the destination first, and then boot and complete the install?

download and install WinXP VirtualCD Control Panel

create a new drive
mount the iso image
make sure you click "persistent mount"...this will solve Vista asking for DVD at reboot

can you confirm that this works? just dont wanna mess anything up..but i'm itching to try vista

Copy all the Vista installation files into a folder in XP and start the installation from there. Once the location of the installation files is recorded, setup automatically returns to that location on reboot.

Since it loads the image in software, doesn't that mean that the mounted image won't be recognized after reboot because windows xp would first need to be booted up for the program/emulation driver to work?
