Can I hook a wireless router to my router/modem combo?

I have a 2wire dsl modem/wireless router. Can I hook up a better wireless router to it and use that to broadcast while using the modem on the 2wire?

Yes, what I would do is disable DHCP on the new router and connect it via a LAN port to your 2wire.

This will avoid double NAT and have your 2wire still provide DHCP.
