Can i have windows 2000 advanced server as a client not server?

This is because im bring this computer to college with me and i wanna know if i can work as client on the campus lan.

Why do you want to run win 2000 advanced server? It probably runs slow without tons of RAM. Win2k pro should be fine for most users unless you're running a lot of server apps like web server, mail, etc.

I have Win2K Adv. Server on my machine right now. I runs fine. I believe is more stable than Pro simply because of the fine tunning MS made. Has not crashed once, even when I had it running on 64MB or ram. In order for it to work as efficiently as possible (as a client) I had most of the services disabled.

A mobile server

Well, people are curious and different. That's why I saw 486 server, mobile server, or a-house-full server on this forum.

By running server you gain on stability when sacrafice performance.

A server acts as a client might disturb a not-that-well designed local network. For example, what if you decide to let your workstation-like server start to broadcast DHCP service?

err, you can put remote console service on workstation, too. Then use rclient to access it.
