Can I have one SCSI & one IDE drive?

Anyone have advice? I already have a 5400 rpm IDE drive in my computer (KT7 board), but I want to put in another drive to run linux (not partition the existing one for complicated reasons). Can I use a SCSI drive if I install an appropriate controller card? I.e. I'm not trying to use both drives simultaneously, just one or the other. Will this cause conflicts?

No problem whatsoever. Depending on how you install your OS's, you should be able to boot either one..... and yes, you should be able to use either one (depending on how you format the drives) at the same time...

Good luck!

I agree. No problem whatsoever. I'm running an all SCSI system, but for a while I was using an IDE drive for all my mp3s, wasn't an issue

My frineds got an 18Gig 10000RPM SCSI drive for his main boot/OS/apps drive, and a big fat 60Gig 75GXP for all his MP3s. You can use it all at once no problems.
