Only reason I ask this is because my MB a EVGA x58 can support 3 way SLI. I asked at EVGA if the MB with support crossfire and he said yes.
I have never used more than one Card at a time.
I have 2 ATI 5770's on the way here and should be here Monday, I have a older ati 4850 in use and would be nice if I could use all 3 in crossfire.
Sorry for the quick edit I listed the cards as 5700 but they are 5770.

even if that was possible why would you want to do it? what resolution are you playing at and what does the rest of your system even look like?

really just sell the 4850 since you can get quite a bit for it at the moment.

cards will downclock to card with lowest speeds and frame buffer will be limited to card with lowest memory

no idea if 5XXX and 4XXX series cards will actually crossfire together. it would work with a motherboard that has Lucid Hydra though (no idea on performance)

Why do I want to do it. Because I never used more than one card before it would be nice if the older card would work good with the newer one.
I run my screen at 1920 x1080

well 2 5770 cards will tear through 1920x1080. your minimums will be a tad low in some cases but adding another card wont fix that anyway. thats just what happens with multi card setups in some games. since you still never listed your pc specs I sure hope its worthy of 5770 crossfire.

pc specs, 2 vertex 60 gig ssd in set up in a aray 0 striping || One terabyte wd server class drive|| 6 gig corsair dominator ddr3 ram || EVGA x58 classified 3 way SLI MB|| Intel I7 350 CPU, had a 920 one but gave it to my son was able to clock it stable to 3.7 ghz.
Dell 24inch Monitor I forget the model #||OS windows 7 Pro.||Cooler Master Cosmos Case.
I wish I had a different MB than the EVGA. Don't get me wrong it is a very good MB for overclocking but it takes to long to boot up, goes threw a lot of self diagnostics.
