Can i get my cpu faster?

Right now i'm runnin a duron 1.3 @ 1.404 stabily around 110F underfull load 108fsb/1.525v. I really wanted to hit around 1.5 but my pci would go higher than 38mhz around 111fsb then my sound/lan cards would crash i was thinking about going 133fsb through a jumper that'd make it run 1.7Ghz then try overriding the multiplier through jumper to 11.5/11 and hit 1.5Ghz but would it work?! and would i need more voltage

temps aren't too terribly high, so you might still have some room to go
unlocking the multiplier would be good if your board supports multiplier adjustments
what board, hsf, ram and psu are you running? all those factor significantly into your oc potential
unlocking the multiplier would be a good step, as 1.3 at 133 could well be faster than 1.5 at 100
you may well be able to hit 1.5 or so at 133 too, but this is likely to require a pretty decent hsf and case cooling setup
of course..nothing is a sure bet in ocing, so no easy way to tell your chips potential til you try it

ok i got a Gigabyte GA-7DX+ with AMD 761? north bridge and VIA 686B south bridge. i duno what set that is w/ pc2100 ddr samsung ram and some cooler master hsf it says it's for 2Ghz+ sock A so it should do w/ 4 80mm case fans. the board has jumper settings to set the multiplier but i'm not sure if the multiplier on my duron is locked. also is it ok to allow the 32-bit pci higher than 38mhz to get higher bus speeds or would i risk damaging my cards

ok..i'm almost sure your duron is multiplier locked
i'm not real familiar with cooler master's models, but i've never been a huge fan, but sounds like it should do for now
i'm inclined to suggest unlocking the multiplier, as I"m pretty sure 1.33 at 133 fsb would be better than 1.5 at 100 fsb
10.5-11x 133 seems like it'd fit your purposes well, but a fully unlocked chip would be more flexible, and right at 133 fsb your pci cards would be running dead on spec
have you upped the vcore at all yet? if the chip will boot at a speed but isn't stable, a bit more vcore can push it over the hump....but more vcore = more heat....quickly
as for running the pci out of spec, it can lead to data corruption and instability, but generally it'll be unstable and you'll know to back it off before any major data corruption
running higher fsbs does boost memory bandwidth, not sure if that board allows you run mem at 100/133...but if you're running at 100/100 right now...moving to 133/133 will be the most important performance boost
psu sounds good, ram sounds good
google search for athlon/duron unlocking guides, try palomino unlocking too, as the old tbird/spitfire unlocking methods don't work on palomin/morgan cores
i'm not sure if the bridges are exactly the same for durons as axps, so try and find a place that says that explicitly

thanks 4 the help. i just ran prime95 for about 3hours @ 1.43Ghz and it was real stable but then when i played a game for about 1+1/2 hours it closed on me then it closed again when i restarted the game. i think it's the vid card it's a visiontek Gf2 400mx so i'm gunna up the agp volt to 1.6 and my corev is already upped by .025 and temps haven't gone past 110F cpu 90f case. i read on http://www17.tomshardware.com/cpu/02q1/020121/duron1300-03.html that amd might have locked the multiplier but, it made it sound like i could lower the multiplier and ti would only slow boot. if i set bus to 133 and the multiplier stays locked and cpu goes around 1.7Ghz what would happen? i really wanna get this thing on 133fsb/133ddr it would make the system a lot faster.

i'm also having a hard time getting my heatsink off it was real hard tog et it on in the 1st place any tips to get it off easier i dun wanna crack the die

i think the multipliers are locked in both directions, and if you try to boot at 1.7 it most likely just won't boot, i don't think your chip has that kind of overhead, and least not with midlevel air cooling
a flat screwdriver with a small piece of masking tape on the tip will help with hsf removal, put it in the side of the clip with a slot for it and press down and then out to release the clip
the masking tape is to try and prevent scratching any traces if the screwdriver slips and hits the board...but really try not to slip..don't want to test your luck
make sure to clean the hsf and cpu every time you remove it, i prefer using naptha ( zippo lighter fluid), rubbing alcohol is also good, vodka will work too ( couldn't find the first two choices that day so why not?) and a lint free cloth
if you used the thermal pad clean it up and pick up either some as3 or other decent hsf paste, the radioshack stuff does ok but dries out and needs replaced every few months
from the tom's article it looks like around 1.4's all you'll get stably, so i'd say unlock it if you can, run at 10.5 * 133/133 for a nice solid 1.4 with a ton of extra mem/fsb bandwidth compared to a normal duron
i think adding voltage to the agp might do more harm than good..if it locked up after 1-1.5 hrs gaming thats most likely a heat issue, so a blorb or something for the gfx card may be in order..but it would be back running in spec at 133
