Can I get in trouble?

So my younger sister (6) had a birthday yesterday. We rented out a shelter at the park to have a bbq and all that good stuff. Anyway, my sister and her little friends are playing on the playground when this drunk comes up and starts yelling and making a ruckus. All the little girls are terrified. The guy asks my mom and her friend if they have men and they say yes they do. Then the guy asks for a cold one and I'm like "this is a birthday party for a 6 year old, do you think we have any cold ones?" He starts to get pissed and so we load up in the cars and head over to the pool (which is where we were going after the bbq). He follows us over to the pool (the pool's right beside the park) and I ask him to leave. He asks me if I wanna fight and I politely say no. But he's piss drunk and he's making obscene gestures and whatnot and absolutely terrifying these little girls. Finally he starts touching my sister and so I push him off her. Then the cops showed up (someone at the pool saw the drunk guy wandering around earlier and called them). But when they get there he starts saying some sh!t about me pushing him and it being assault. But I was only trying to get him off my little sister.

Cliffs:
younger sister has party
drunk guy shows up, being stupid
follows us to the pool
touches my sister and makes obscene gestures
I push him off her
cops show up for drunk guy, he says he wants to press charges on me for pushing him off her

Can I get in any trouble?

oh, and i have a feeling the cops didn't ask for your info. how can he press charges on someone who he doesn't have the contact info for.

and 3rdly. you should have whipped the sh1t out of him.

Don't worry about it. There is no way the cops will take the word of a drunk over the word of you and the other witnesses who were at the pool.

Yeah... pusing a creepy, drunk pedo off your SIX YEAR OLD sister is probably not something you need to worry about getting in trouble for. You probably could have got a few good punches in so long as you didn't leave a huge mark.

I was damn close to but I didn't because I didn't want to start a bigger ruckus than I already had in front of the little girls.

You should have beat the living crap out of the guy. No, probably will not get in trouble, but if he tries anything just press child molestation charges.

You should have decked him and duct taped him to the ramada so the police could find him easier before you went to the pool.

I would have kicked his ass for putting his filthy hands on my sister. Why did you let him off with a push. Break his face in for attempting to molest your sister for god sakes.

The push was just the first thing. Had he tried again after that, I would've done a more physical approach. But the cops showed up so I let them handle it.

If the drunk touched his 6 year old sister, he could have left PLENTY of marks.

Good job on protecting your family, no way you're in trouble
you really think the police would believe him over you at your sister birthday party?
Were any witnesses around?

Dont' even sweat it

There were a few moms at the party and some people at the pool so I'll probably be fine.

So you are writing this after the cops showed up, but before they talk to you/sort everythig out?

common sense would say that you wont get in trouble...since it would be you and a bunch of mothers against the word of a drunk bum :disgust:

They just took him and weren't listening to the nonsense he was saying. But I don't know what he could've said once he got to the police station. Haven't heard anything yet though.

I think the only thing Id be pissed off at you for is not casually haveing the girls rounded up as you lure that ****** off to some bush and knock him the ****** out before calling the police. Think thats violent? Look at it this way; he could of done a whole lot worce than touched. Do not give people like that chances to come close to children.

You're a responsible member of a happy American family celebrating your kid sister's birthday.

He's some random drunk loser.

The cops are on YOUR side.

You are fine.

Define "Finally he starts touching my sister and so I push him off her."
Touched her shoulder with one hand, two hands?

I wouldn't worry about it...I smacked the crap out of a pair of 16yr olds, last year for harrasing my 6 year old sister, and I was let off with.
All I got from the police was a "good on ya", but then again the kids where known thugs so that made it a little easier.
