Can I get guide + for my ATI TV Wonder?

I installed an ATI TV Wonder about 6 months ago, and was wondering if I can get Guide + for it. I know it comes with the All in Wonder cards (I have an ATI AIW 128 Pro in my other machine) and would like to use it with my TV Wonder... Since I use Win2k, I have to jump thru hoops to get the TV wonder installed, and I might have missed that part. It seems to me that it would be included with their stand alone TV product.

What is guide+? Also my picture quality on TV Wonder is not very crisp (not even close to what it is on normal TV) couuld it be a setup issue? or are TV Wonder have inferior to TV picture?

Guide + is supposed to be the online TV Guide thing..Anyway, I downloaded and installed the MMC 7.1 from ATI's site when I installed the card. Where am I supposed to access the Guide + features at? I can't seem to find much information about it.

Ive had the ATI TV Wonder for over a year and a half. I have yet to use that Guide + feature. I dont know to turn it on, nor that channel surfing preview thing too. I just get to record my VHS music videos onto Mpg 3 format. (for a strange reason I am also in MONO instead of Stereo.. man I wish they fix that bug soon.)

AKaz the ATI has pretty good visual quality for me. I have a VCR hooked up to it (with Vide in *composite*) and a JVC digital camera (S video) and it is near perfect for me. I know the Conexant I/O chip is kind if dated but its does its job well.

To all with ATI TV wonder cards (whatever flavor they may be):

Go to Dscaler and download Dscaler. It's picture is 10x better than that of the MMC from ATI. It is also much more stable. You will not be sorry. Dscaler is absolutely free and it is under the GPL. I hated my TV Wonder VE until I downloaded Dscaler.

As for guide +, I think that is only a feature of the All In Wonder cards. I know my VE does not come with support for it. All the more reason to trash the ATI software for Dscaler.

The "Gemstar Guide+ Plus" is a separate program, from whatever MMC version is used, about 5 MB in size. Find someone with an AIW card's install CD, or else have ATI send out the latest TV Wonder CD. Works fine with my TV Wonder, and should also work with the TV Wonder VE & USB versions as well. ATI won't post the program for download, due to copyright concerns.

vailr is correct. i have the tv wonder card AND an aiw and a radeon LE. the gemstar program can be found buried in the cd's for both the aiw and the radeon. i installed it on my machine which has the tv wonder (and a geforce3 ti200) and it works like a champ. the link to it even showed up in the tv viewer app (i downloaded the latest version of this from ati). I don't use it a lot but it is kind of neat. problem is it's also wrong sometimes - last week it said NYPD blue was a rerun & half way thru the show i found it wasn't - missed half the show! grrr.

MAn that DScalr program is a real GEM!!! I mean it has no recording features (which I hope they add later) but my old PAnasonic PV-4020 is showing better than it did on my TV screen. NO more lines on the sides (bars that move up constantly in any mode) This is the best software I have used on this card. MAn only if it could record. Is the same as the Divx 4 series.

I don't suppose you know the name of the setup executable...or directory...I have my original AIW 128 Pro install disks and plan on searching for it tonight. I have the TV Wonder stereo version.

Well, I have scoured my retail CD set for the gemstar program... I can't seem to find it... Most of the directories are numbered.. No real names...I did pick out a few of the names. I know the AIW 128 Pro came with it, because when I first bought it I remembered having installed it..Since I can't use the CD's with Win2k, I can't run the install to see where it comes from...Is there anywhere to just download the program?

I am guessing TV-Wonder also has this option... How in the world do you turn OFF the tv-on-demand feature for good on an AIW card??

Even when i am not using on-demand and viewing regular broadcast, CPU usage on my XP1800+ hovers around 50%. when i enable on-demand button to review the last few seconds of the broadcast; it DOES work immediately, meaning, the button on the ATI AIW series doesn't disable the capture in reality. It just doesn't PLAY the few-seconds old clip when turned off (although the clip is continuously captured/updated)

Anyone know of a way to get around this and turn the live-capture feature off for good??
