I'm just doing a little research for a friend. This is strictly a gaming PC. He will be using a 1080p TV for now. 1920x1080 monitor in the future. He will be overclocking.

You probably want a bigger SSD if you plan on running your games off the SSD. BF4 alone is 30 gigs I think. I've got a 240 GB SSD and I'm starting to have to archive steam games on my HDD because the SSD is full.

Only for the OS? No games, software used a lot, etc? If that is the case, I would recommend a Hybrid Drive. They are part SSD and HDD and the Hybrid Drive puts mostly opened programs on the flash memory (SSD) and the other stuff on the Spinning Disk (HDD.)

Meh, I would still recommend the Intel Haswell i3s over the AMD FX. Now the $400 builds are an AMD type.

I guess I just enjoy my money more these days than needing that extra few fps or going with 4aa vs 2aa. Amd boards are significantly cheaper with more features for your buck on top of that your getting a 6 core vs dual core.

Also a little less spent on cpu and motherboard means a bigger ssd or better gpu.

The main issue I see with that build is the V300. They've switched over to using some really slow async NAND, and the performance of current drives does not match what was reviewed. Switch the drive to the Crucial M500 120GB instead. To offset the cost, you can grab some normal DDR3 1600 like this Team kit for $61.
