I just ran 3dmark with the rig in sig.

Screenshot

Specs:
Opty 175 @ 2.75ghz
2x7900GT SLI (ran at 710mhz/1700mhz in benchmark)
2x1gb DDR500 (3-3-2-7)
and the rest in in sig

I've seen people with dual 7900GT's get 10,000+ in 06. Sure it might just be for e-penis but 10,000 would be nice to have/achive. Get 10k just for the hell of it.

So any suggestions on how to get it?
(what should I OC and how much)

Edit: Yes I know that my rig is "sick" and I am really happy with it. Just that I consider 10k a milestone of sorts. :p

Shut down all unnecessary services/programs in XP, turn off all IQ improvements/put all settings on performance, research which driver versions perform the best in 3dmark? Take the side panel off, point a window AC unit at the motherboard and up your OCs? Get a second mortgage on the house and switch to SLI'd GTX's or Crossfired XTX's? Sorry I wasn't much help, I'll hush now...

Nice, very very nice. I don't think there's much room to OC anything else.

lol
I'll probably up it to ~9500 but I (personally) am happy with it and don't think I can reach it.

Also, for some reason scores seem to be a little higher with a fresh installed rig. Probably because of all the background junk.

That's a great score...Man, I have crossfire and just barely break 10k.... but you have 7900GTs!

Most of the people with 7900GT's who broke 10k had about the same clock on the GPU as mine. Maby a little more on the core.

I think that it's because there CPU was at 3gh+ or a 3.5-4ghz conroe was why they were able to break 10k.

I'll second that motion. The cpu makes a big difference with dual card setups. When I was running two 7800GTs I wen from scoring ~9600 in '05 to ~12,500 with just an oc on my Opteron 146 (1.8GHz to 3.0GHz). Now '06 won't show the same gains but it will still make a big difference. Can you oc your Opteron any further?

Actually, 06 seems to be even more CPU dependent than 05 was and shows quite unrealistic improvements (compared to what you would see in games) from just the CPU speeds. An overclocked Core 2 may well push wizboy's setup past the 10k mark.

There's always replacing your 7900GTs with two 7950GX2s...but personally I don't think 10,000 3DMark06 points is worth $1100-$1200 heh...

I agree with this guy. Before OCing my CPU, my 7950GX2 was only able to manage 6800 points. OC to 2.4 GHz, and I get an instant jump to 7600-7700 (which is still low for a 7950GX2). At 1280x1024 my system is definitely CPU-limited in 3D'06. Of course, I don't game at 1280x1024. I game at 1920x1200. ;)
