Can I "freeze" off a mole like I would a wart?

For the past 8 years I've sported a gotee. (not to be confused with a goatsey)

I've decided to start shaving clean again and in doing so, I remember the big mole I have on my chin. I've been cutting it while shaving alot, because if I don't I have a big patch of hair on the mole. So I try and shave over it lightly..

I'm curious if I can just go get a wart remover and freeze the damn thing off.

I don't think so.

Though I should mention that certain moles can be removed surgically, which is rather routine, for suspected cancer.

so I'll update my response to "maybe"

I know when my bother was younger they had the doctor do that to a big one on his neck but not sure if you can get over the counter stuff for this since moles are different then warts.

I doubt it. Just go to the dermatologist and have him 'test it for melanoma'. A lot of the times insurance will balk on cosmetic procedures, but you can get around it. I had a mole on my nose removed once and I got around paying for it by having them test it for cancer.

Moles have roots while warts don't I believe, so you can't just freeze them, they have to be cut out.

I've had more than one mole removed for the reason you are describing. I just told the dermatologist I kept cutting it while shaving and it was starting to become a pain. Insurance covered the whole procedure.

Yea go ahead and use a WART remover to get rid of a MOLE. That's what it's designed for.

Nonsense, all he needs is a pastry torch, tweezers, and a lot of booze. Why involve so-called "professionals" when you can do it at home, for less?

Plus he gets double points on his man card for including fire, pain, and booze all in one incident.

Go to a dermatologist and tell him its been growing and looking really weird. He'll remove that shit in a jiffy.

It's not cheap. He will have to convince the insurance co that it's not cosmetic.

Freezing a mole off and breaking it off the skin could lead to a lot of bleeding so I would not recommend it.

Speaking from experience ... moles on the body can (and are) removed by dermatologists. Moles on the face are usually removed by a PS (Plastic Surgeon).

Mole. Bloody mole. We aren't supposed to talk about the bloody mole, but there's a bloody mole winking me in the face. I want to c-u-u-t it off, ch-o-o-p it off, and make guacamole.

Right, that's why i said to tell the dermatologist it's been growing. Dermatologists are always wary of moles that start getting bigger and developing irregular borders/colors.
