Can I firmware upgrade a Teac CD-W512E w/ CD-W512EB's upgrade?

I have heard conflicting info if i can or cannot. The drive are almost they same except one bosts burn proof. But E only model says buffer under-run-proof. Isn't that they same as burn-proof?

If Device Manager identifies it as a 512E then don't upgrade it with the 512EB's 2.0D firmware. They are different models and you risk trashing your drive with, according to Teac, no way to recover.
