I have an nforce3 250gb, amd 3400+, 1.5gig of value ram. It's not overclocked at all, but i would like to OC it. The thing is, i tried once, and the thing was so unstable. I mean, i got the mhz higher, but the fsb was lowered because i had to set a divider. Any tips?

thanks guys!

what core is that 3400+? If it's a Venice like I had you have to increase the cpu voltage a little to make it stable. then your only limitation should be the quality of your ram.

you can go up to 2.4Ghz...my friend has the same combo except a s754 3000+ and 2x512MB ddr-400 crucial ram and he got up to 2.45-2.5Ghz.

it is 2.4ghz :\

You should be able to get it up to 2.6-2.7 Ghz. Lower your HT multiplier to 3x, lower your RAM to 133 Mhz, and start raising the HTT bus. You may have to add .1-.15v of vcore, if you're wanting to go very high with it.

As you increase the bus speed the ram clocks upward with it. And AMD cpus aren't as sensitive to memory speed as Intel cpus so you should be good. Just try it and see how it feels.
