Can I easily Downgrade to XP

I used to have XP media center. I upgraded to Vista which I actually do like but it's just too slow on the rig. I want to go back to XP and save vista for the next machine I build. Short of format and reinstall, is there an easy way to downgrade i.e. pop the xp disk in and install. Obviously I don't want to loose programs, bookmarks, settings etc. I'm just wondering if anyone's tried it before start jacking with it.

No. Microsoft does not provide a "downgrade" path.

Agreed. Without doing a full re-install, the only Windows options are "Repair Install" and "Upgrade". You can't do a non-destructive downgrade of Vista to XP.
