I may mix the two.. like get the 2gb ram and the 256 mb gpu.

Anyway, what do you guys think? What GPU should I go with? What are the main differences between the CPUs? Should I look at different pieces of hardware to what I've listed there?

Take note I already have a dvdrw drive, monitor (with DVI input), speakers, keyboard, mouse.. etc.

I doubt I'll get Vista, it doesn't interest me at the moment and XP seems fine.

Get 2GB of DDR2-667 (PC5400) and the E4300. You should be able to overclock as far with that as you can with an E6300 and DDR2-800. 2GB is necessary now though IMO.
How long do you envision keeping this for? If you might upgrade the GFX card soon-ish, like when more DX10 cards come out, get the cheaper X1950Pro, if not, then get either the 512MB X1950, or the 7950GT.

I'm not exactly sure how the prices look, but they don't seem too unreasonable from my knowledge of UK vs AUS prices. It's always worth shopping around quite a bit though.

Go for 2Gb RAM and stick with the 256Mb x1950pro until graphics card market is flooded with D3D10 in the summer.

Take note that my current comp is a 6 year old Pentium 3 800 mhz. So I'm pretty sure anything will be awesome to me, haha.

So 2GB RAM, 256 x1950 pro (Should I get the Gigabyte one or the Powercolour one? The PowerColour one's harder for me to get but apparently it's got a better cooler or something), and E4300?

-edit- Forgot to mention, thanks for the advice. It's much appreciated.
