I was able to do it no problem in Win98 by using TweakUI.

But with the new version of TweakUI I dont see this option available.
I also tried to disable it using Xteq X-setup, but when i clear the check box, press apply, then restart the machine it is still enabled!

help me out..
please ;)

Presenly running Win98SE and have the latest TweakUI version 1.33.It still has the option to disable the splash screen at startup.
Under BOOT,unmark display splash screen while booting.
Maybe it has something to do with the present version of Win that you are using??

you can disable the splash screen by placing the following line in msdos.sys under [Options]

Logo=0

goto Control Panel >>> Folder options >> UNcheck "Hide protected Operating System files" >> press Ok or Apply. Then it should appear in the C: directory.

One other thing, you must right click on MSDOS.SYS and choose properties and UNcheck the readme only option. So you can edit the file.

After you are done you can go back and REenable both of the check marks.

-enjoy being splash screen free!
