Hi,
I have the Asus A8N SLI deluxe board equipped with a nVidia 6800 GT PCI-E card.
A few days ago I noticed that one of the fans had become noisy. In orther to find out which fan was making the noise, I placed my finger lightly on the center of the fans to slow them down. I didn't stop the fans entirely and slowdown didn't last for more than a few seconds.
However, I started to wonder if this method of testing could damage the fans? - what do you think?
I guess that the worst thing which could happen is that the currect would rise a bit in the coils (during the slow-down).
