The Disk Manager won't let you. I've tried....:(

I only did mine by reinstalling. The letters are assigned in order as the kernel finds them. The only way to alter that is to add/delete partitions during install.

From: Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Storage > Disk Management > (right click on the drive) > Change Drive Letter and Path...

Additional question:

In my config, Win2K set its drive letter as I: (Instead of the
next available letter). It seems to be able to maintain this even when I boot back to Win98.
I am assuming there is something in the partition information
that is letting it set an arbitrary letter to a given partition.

I would like to do the same thing, if I can, with an attached
SCSI drive. I can set it to the letter I want in Disk Manager,
but when I boot back to W98 the drive reverts to the next available letter.
