can i change my default SEARCH page in IE

this would be different from default homepage, I'd think. Soemthing happened and my IE keeps on opening some site like xjupitor.com crap when I type a bad website url. it used to go to micosoft search page.

nevermind... it's all in our registries.. and i downloaded a file called google.reg that updated some reg. entries and now my default search page is google stuff instead of some xjupitor.com crap that messed with my registry... bad bad bad.

crap, didnt work, so i ran my adware and while it was running, i ran a search for this xupitor crap and it seems it is something that installs itself in ur pc. i ran a search on my regedit and found crap pointing to my crogramfiles... sigh.

Make sure you download the latest updates from the adaware site. Then adaware will spot the xjupiter entries and get rid of them.

Xupiter's spyware garbage... And yes the latest adaware signature picks it up.

yeah this juptor crap is some funky dunky... i dled spybot and it removed it. the new adware i couldn't dl until feb.

jupitor crap installs through activex i read. i dont know how i got it but i got it between wed .and thurs.

I second the SPYBOT...... both my son and friend had it (and others) and it cleaned up both of theirs. I had to run it 3 times on one PC and went through numerous BSOD. but all seems to be well now has NOT came back....


I went from Adaware to spybot and like it better.

Xupitor is a horrible little bug...
With Pavilion Computers, if an eu had xupitor... he could connect to the net, but he couldn't browse internet sites.. everytime he tried.. all itwould say is Xupitor...
