Can I buy my own phone to use with Virgin Mobile?

The phones they have are ugly, huge, and expensive. Can I buy one on eBay or something? Will a Sprint phone work?

If you are talking about those prepay phones then no, I had a virgin mobile phone back when they 1st came out and only the phones virgin sells work with their service.

What do you mean by prepaid? I haven't see anything on the Virgin site about prepaid, but I've seen "prepaid" phones on eBay.

Okay, so I can't use a Sprint phone. Can I buy a Virgin phone on eBay and use it?

really? what type of network is Virgin Mobile?

When I visited the UK, I just bought a prepaid Virgin Mobile SIM card to work with my UNLOCKED GSM phone. Worked like a charm. Of course, I have no clue if Virgin Mobile here works similarly.

If Virgin is GSM here, then a Sprint phone still won't work. Sprint is not GSM.

Virgin isn't GM here. It uses the Sprint network. I think it's CDMA or something..

So if I buy a phone on eBay will I be able to activate it?
