Hey guys!
I really have the urge to buy some more memory for my PC, primarily, because the games don't get enough! It takes ages to QUIT games like Doom3, Sims 2 which since I don't have enough memory, put all the data on the HDD, and then the latter takes ages to clear the pagefile, and because of theis games "jerk" during the gameplay.

As you can se from "my PC" link, i have 2x256 mb Samsungs DDR2700 2.5-3-3-7 sticks. Now yesterday, I was able to overclock the FSB to 200 mhz, and run the memory at 2.5-3-3-9 200 Mhz with no problem. Ran all kinds of tests, and the memory indeed performs like a "true" 3200.

I don't want to throw this mem. away. Instead, I want to purchase 1 stick of either Kingston 3200 512 mb, or Kingmax 3200, 3500, or 3700 (same price here (88 doll) for a wierd reason). Will either of these memory types run smoothly along with my existing OVERCLOCKED 2700? Thanks a bunch!

won't the 3200 drop down in speed to 2700 to match the other ram modules speeds? i got 3200 kingston 256 ram it sweet, i have it over clocked at 2.5 3 3 6 right now. I have 2 sticks dual channelled though.

it'll still run at pc2700. your fastest memory will only run as fast as your slowest memory.

Thus, if my PC2700 is runnig at 3200 mode (200mHz) right now, the 3200 would do the same as well, and match the CL timings too?

Mhmm, it should, keyword should.. im not sure how it works with overclocked ram though, why don't ya just get a dual channel kit of 512 kingston value ram, I got one for 120 Canadian. trade in your pc2700 sticks to a local used comp shop.

Dual channel kit costs 160 dollars, waaaaayy over my budget! I just have about 80 dollars (USD) to spend on memory, and I wanna buy additional... My 2700 performs really well, i was surprised to get such values with no trouble, to say the least. For now i just wanna get like a 3500 512 mb stick, and maybe in the future (when i save up enough *uneeded* money :) cuz i spend everything else) buy another stick.

Yes. I did the same thing myself :)

Had 512MB of Corsair XMS PC2700 @ 200MHz.

Added a 512MB of Mushkin Blue PC3200

Both at 2-3-3. Worked fine. :) Dual channel and all

Awesome! Usually different brands of Hi-Speed memory are the least compatible when ran together. I guess if i put the Kingmax (Colour Tiny BGA series, btw) 3500 in (just for the future overclocking headroom) along with my OC 2700 i'd be able to run it with no trouble. Oh shucks... maybe tomorrow Imma buy some memory, test it in the store, cuz to return it would mean HELL...
