Can I burn an audio disc on DVD-R?

Ok, those Radius DVD-R's are hideous and I need to use them in some way that doesn't seem particularly wasteful...so I am going to burn a music CD with them, but how do u burn one with DVD media?

Some DVD players can handle playing back MP3s burned to a DVD. I think the Philips 642 can do it.
