I'm flying, and I'm only bringing a carry on. I have a wrist brace that I wear when I sleep and it has a metal brace on the palm side. I think it's made of aluminum.

Are they going to have a fit about this?

Is it medically necessary? is it doctor prescribed?

if so... get a notice of medical necessity and they should be fine..

if not... put it in your luggage.. worse comes to worse... check the bag.

Should be fine. I usually take my ACL brace when I travel. However, after getting strip-searched the first time...I take it off before I hit security...and put it back on when I get off the plane.

i carried a metal leg brace on...similar to what you described. wear it going through security...walk through the metal detector with it on (yes it will beep) they will swab it, scan it, and let you go. They might ask you if you can go on without it, and just say youre wrist is in bad shape. at least they did for me, might be different with wrist braces
