Can HMB memory in APUs work with no RAM?

I have the idea to update my ancient Q6600 this year and would like to know if this new technology can be used with no RAM in the motherboard. Actually I have only 4GB of ram and with my SSD cache is fast and enough for me.

Would like to know if the new AM4 chipsets are prepared to work with a ZEN APU with 8 or 16 GBs inside the chip (HMB) and using no RAM in the main system. Do not know if the UEFI and Windows could support this but is an interesting possibility.

Have you read something about this??

No, it is highly unlikely. HBM memory is very expensive to produce a package from vs. traditional memory. If we ever see such a thing, it will be in the enterprise markets first. However, in current economies of scale, it will be far cheaper for OEMs to get an APU with 1GB of HBM for graphics, and traditional system memory for the remainder.

I guarantee you will not be seeing APU-only memory options in consumer systems this year.
