Can forum moderators remove DailyTech comment posts?

Can forum moderators remove DailyTech comment postings? If not, who do I contact?

I think M4H had a trolling brain-fart. This isn't his usual behavior.

Not only is this a completely different system, but he berates me and attempts to discredit my contribution to the news post (a confirmation and first-hand account of the reported problem in contrast to many reports of there being no problem). He also incorrectly says that I was "surprised" by what happened to me, when in fact I only provided that story as a background to my request for file recovery software so people could see what can happen. Is it impossible to report knowledgable first-hand experience without this kind of response? So all the knowledgable people must sit back and wait for it to happen to other people and never warn them lest they ruin some "reputation?"

I'm sure M4H will understand and approve of the deletion after my PM to him. Even if not, he admits that it is out of place and I have proven that it is not relevant. If it is not deleted, I will simply end up writing a follow-up to him in the comments and I don't want to complicate things if it's possible to simply delete it.

We have nothing to do with Daily Tech

You don't give Mods ultimatums. You either restrain yourself, or you'll find yourself posting elsewhere. Something I've learned in the past, and am working on.

Thanks, but you misread. I only said that I hoped to avoid responding to it outside of PMs but if the mods were unable to delete (not unwilling), I would just go ahead. In the post's early form, I was aware that it could be misread and added stuff to clarify but I guess it (intentions) was not enough.

Also, I did not mean to put words in M4H's mouth. He did not admit anything, I was simply saying that he must admit that.

Another thing: Since when was the FTP service running on Windows XP Media Center Edition suddenly a "Windows 2000" FTP server? 😉 Just another assumption M4H made there. If not for principle, then delete it for lies (unintentional as they may be, they make up 100% of the post). 🙂

DT comments consistently turn up in egosearches. Employers conduct similar searches (a fact many job-placement personel have made me aware of). I could not allow that to remain without a response.

so uh, you want it deleted because he called you out and you are afraid you won't get a job about it? or your reply if you make it public will lead you to not get a job? or what? where does the job part come into it?
