I was looking at Crucial.com and Dell.com If I use their memory "wizard" it offeres 128M and 256M SODIMMS. If I just search (on Crucial) for SODIMMS, 512 is an option. Is there a reason for this?
I assume 512 on a laptop (let alone Inspiron 1100) is ludicrous (and outrageous in terms of price) since the manual says it can handle 1gig of mem. And why aren't there bigger SODIMMS offered, if the limit is 1gig and there's only 1 slot?
Just curious. I just bought one (2ghz Celeron) and it's about as fast as maple syrup. Hoping 256 will make XP happy.
