If you'll recall I've already proven that he isn't a Christian and only has religion. He believes that his membership in the catholic church will save him when it can do nothing for his salvation just as others believe that their attendance at a particular denomination makes them good with God. I've warned many that sitting in a wooden box telling other men about your sins will not absolve those sins in any way which can only be obtained by confessing your sins to Jesus directly.

How do we go about confessing our sins to Jesus directly? I wasn't aware that he was present on earth and talking to people. Does he have a toll free phone number that we can call?

It requires something called assent on the part of the confessor so if you don't believe in God there's no point. 1 John 1:9 says to confess your sins to Jesus and he will forgive you of them. If you agree that you are a sinner. believe that Jesus died on a cross to absolve those sins for you and that he alone has the power to forgive you of them then you must act upon this knowledge. Confess you sins to Jesus and he will hear you, forgive you of them and that's all there is to obtaining salvation which is the free gift of God. If there is no assent on your part then you will receive nothing for performing what is the equivalent of reading the ingredients list off a soup can. This is just like contract law where all concerned parties must achieve assent to the express terms of the agreement or no contract is formed.

What "sins"?
Exactly, people confess to sins they imagine they have never realizing that the sins they imagine they have are not the sins they feel they have. The real sinner is the one who has to confess and the real sinner is hidden. The sin is the sin of ego and ego is the one that protects us from feeling our sins. The ego will never see itself as the sinner. Only the intensely intuitive who are conscious and curious that something must be wrong, or those so fucked up by their ego as to be ready for death, will be able to obtain Christs gift of ego extinction. You shouldn't concern yourself with such matters, You can't go that way. Your hope lies in the realization of the trap that ego sets by making you proud of thinking. Your thought is your prison and you do not see your prison because it is the prison itself that gives you the impression you are not in prison. Stop thinking and start being and see that you can't do it. Sit in that stew and wait for grace to come to you too. End the delusion that you aren't as lost as any believer. Or not, if you love your ego.....

Think of the requirements to obtain salvation like a recipe. If you don't include the right ingredients you cannot achieve the desired result. Ego can result in sin but sin is not limited to just ego and encompasses anything that breaks God's laws. When we choose to bear the weight of our own sins by rejecting the free give of forgiveness being offered by Jesus then we make a mortal mistake from which we can never escape the consequences thereof. Only by confessing your sins directly to Jesus can you obtain forgiveness from your violations of God's laws. When you wrong another person(s) and confess your wrong to them and ask for forgiveness from that individual or individuals that is morally correct but it doesn't obtain God's forgiveness.

You can bang away on me all day long over this truth but in the end when you draw your last breath in this life you cannot say that someone didn't try to tell you the truth. 1 John 1:9 says to confess your sins to Jesus and he will forgive you of them. John 1:1 says that Jesus is God and 1 John 4:1-2 states that only a Christian has the ability to confess that Jesus is God in the flesh which is the hallmark of a genuine Christian. People can claim to be Christians all day long but if they cannot confess this truth then the spirit of God is not in them as is described in Matthew 25:1-13. People who depend on religion to save them have made a grave mistake as Christianity and religion are not the same thing which Jesus himself demonstrated many times as he stood in the way of organized religion and their message of hatred.
