Can cell phones get screen-burn?

I leave my phone open at night when it charges to iluminate my room so I dont' stub my toe on stuff. Can this cause screen burn to occur to the phone's display?

Awesome. Just making sure. I was just disputing this with someone else, I guess I shouldn't have second-guessed myself.

using your cellphone as a nightlight? lol

I know, you can say it. I'm a genius.

Dude, a nightlight is like $.99.

And I swear I can still see the outline of my old wallpaper on my phone.

Interesting that the two people saying LCD's can burn also use crackhead avatars.

All right, I'll believe you if I can see some pics as evidence.

LOL 😀

I've heard that LCD's don't burn-in, but I've heard otherwise. Why don't you find out for us and post back on it? 😉 😛 lol jk 😀

My Dell 2005fpw has burn in at the top, where Internet Explorer is, I can see the go at top right. I did not notice this until I set my background on none which is a plain blue background.

And yes I do use a screensaver that comes on after 10 minutes and my monitor shuts down at 20 minutes, but since I am usually using Internet Explorer a lot, it seems to have left a burn in.

Well, yeah i know. Night lights are cheap, but the locations of the outlets aren't anywhere effective. 2 of the 3 outlets are behind my bed and the other is in the far corner which won't ilumiate my path. Hmm....I'll think of something.

LOL don't make fun of my avatar.

Back in the dorms a guy I knew had some Matrix background, and never used a screensaver. When he turned his computer off you could still see the background faintly on his screen.

I used to have an animated Enterprise as my screensaver on my T610. Where the saucer was, I can see the outline of a ellipse. It's kind of like dust or stuck pixels.

I have a projecter alarm clock and projects the time over like half my ceiling. Doesn't really light up the room though...

Then how are you keeping your cell phone on all night without the batteries dying if you can't plug it in because the outlets aren't in effective places?

Edit: Sukhoi, you need to PM me and explain how your avatar is mathmatically possible because I just don't get it even though I know it's correct.

Edit: Nevermind, I get it now...boy it's late.

no, lcds do not burn in, HOWEVER, certain samsung screens, over time wtih the same image, develop a capacitance that keeps a ghost of that image on the screen for a while. turning the screen completely off for a few days will get rid of it.

i recommend against using your cellphone as a nightlight, you could burn out the backlight, inverter, or overheat the phone by doing so

I don't have a screenshot, but I know that LCDs do burn in. Thanks for the pic screw3d... I've seen it on many machines.. ususally burned in with the login screen.
