Can cake make my poop red?

Last night I had a few slices of some red velvet chocolate cake, and this morning after I did my business I noticed the nuggets were dark red. Could the cake cause this or am I going to die?

If it stays consistant, then there might be some cause for alarm. Could just be the dye, chemical reaction, hemroid, ulcer, IBS, maybe something more serious...
