Ok, so I know this is a dumbass question, but I'm working on some tin foil related research and I don't own nor have I ever used a DVR for anything and so I thought I would ask some people who are...

I searched google and found no reliable source.
 
I've never seen a legitimate report of it happening, so I don't think so. Theoretically it is certainly possible since they all have cable modems built in (at least the cable co ones do), but it's not a hook that anyone has built in to my knowledge.
