I am putting together an old p200mmx system with spare parts. Micronix p55 mobo, etc.
With just memory, hd ,floppy , vga card, keyboard and mouse.
With a known good bootable floppy, and a known good drive, the system hangs just after the mouse is loaded.
If I remove the disk, the system boots into win 98, and I can access the drive a: just fine, and read any disk.
My boot order in cmos is floppy, hdisk
No system passwords or limmitations on disk access
I have tried 720kb 1.44 and 2.88 setting just for kicks
Update: Fixed the problem by making a proper start-up disk, the one I was using was a generic win 98se start disk that came with my windows cd.
