So there have been two bottles of beer in the office fridge for some time. One is Leine's Red, looks normal. Other is Summit Bohemian Style Pilsner, it has some debris in it. Both is glass bottles. Can beer go bad???

Ohhh yeah.
I have randomly found beers lying around that *appeared* to be at least 5+ years old. I love beer, but I couldn't have more than a couple sips of that ****

put a couple beers in the hot sun for a day then get them cold and try to drink. You'll know which ones were in the sun.

Yes it can, but floaty things doesn't necessarily mean it is. Little specks I've seen in various pops/juices that were fine. If you see lumps, it's probably bad though. Best way to find out is to taste it.

Can beer go good? I have never had good beer, but I have heard rumors of it. Does it really exist?

You've obviously not tried many different beers.

Yeah, I prefer mixed drinks. I have had some horrible and some "less horrible" beer, but nothing I'd really enjoy for the taste.

i had some beer in my fridge in the garage. it was in the fridge about a year. i went to get one this fall and cracked it open and took a big drink. i almost threw it up.

best i can guess it went all summer then winter in a dead fridge. but it was Miller light so no big loss. but now i have to get a new fridge

It won't go bad so as it can hurt you, but it certainly will start to taste bad!

Yes, beer can go bad (or get "skunky"), but that almost never happens if left in a fridge. It has to be left in a warm place and/or in sunlight. The "debris" is likely just some separated yeast. Shake it gently. Then open the bottle and check the smell before drinking. If it smells normal, it's fine. You'll know "skunky" when you smell it.

I'm drinking Spaten Optimator tonight. Damn good beer IMO.

"Can beer go bad?" That depends who they're hanging around with. Hopefully your beer has enough sense to choose thier friends carefully.

It depends on the alcohol content & how you stored it. Typical 4.5%-6% guys won't last more then 6-8 months before being noticable. After a year, you're taking chances. The fridge helps, but only so much. Something like an 8-10% stout could last a few years under the right conditions. Takes some of the edge off.
